"It took years of work, but I did it. The last few months were... hell. But the culmination of my entire career has finally happened! I was able to reach into my own soul and isolate a portion enough to extract it. Having placed it into a block of inert Red Clay, I observed the results. It formed itself into some kind of... writhing mass of arms and hands. It reached for me immediately and I threw myself back. Empathy enacted quarantine protocols, but as the doors sealed shut it... whispered to me...

It begged me to stay. It begged me to hold it. I felt my gut twisting, as though the years of self imposed isolation were suddenly brought out into the fore of my mind. 

I blinked away tears and made my preparations.

This is my jam submission to Strange Pact's A Machine for Gods Jam~! My own personal theme here is the idea that we all contain divinity within ourselves, but what sort of divinity that is? It' s unclear. What if we reached inside of ourselves and pulled it out. What would it look like? What would it do? Would we like what we see?

Game Instructions Follow:

- Press Escape to skip the intro

- When the entity is aggressive, Left Click on it and Hold until the aggression subsides, close proximity to the entity is exhausting but necessary

- Click the coffee mug to take a sip. Don't fall asleep during the experiment

- Click the Coffee button to fill your mug.  (It will take time to brew a new pot)

- Click the Cry button to hunch over yourself desk and let the tears flow (It will take time to find your emotions again if you stop)

- Tears will not increase while crying

- You cannot drink coffee while crying

- Willpower decreases when the Entity is aggressive

- Progress is faster while the Entity is aggressive

- If Willpower reaches 0 or if Tears exceed their Maximum you will fail
